Reader Question about Charlie Lutes

I wonder if you could respond to a question I have. I recently discovered the tmfreeblog site, and despite the fact that I stopped TM some years ago after being fairly committed, I found it very helpful in explaining many of my experiences. However, there's this nagging thing. I used to go to Charlie Lutes lectures back in the 80's and 90's, and he seemed to be a very credible sincere voice for TM based on his own personal experience. I guess I feel a need to somehow release that tie to TM. Do you have any suggestions, any take on his role and persona, etc.? Thank you.

Charlie Lutes was a very realized human being, and TM is a valid technique. Unfortunately, the TM movement was mismanaged by Maharishi Mahesh Yogi and some of those in administrative positions abused their power. But yes, I saw Charlie numerous times, and he was a very enlightened human being. He incorporated the best values of the West with those of the East.

Maybe TM is not for you. Perhaps, it is.

Only you can make the decision, not from the subconscious level, but from the inner Self.

I graduated from MIU and yes, there was phoniness by administrators and some people enwrapped themselves into TM like a religion. But that happens everywhere. You can
turn any -ism into a religion.

I later studied with a Taoist Master and learned Iron Shirt Chi Kung practices to ground myself which most TM-ers very much need. I experience bliss in TM and I am grateful for the practice, but at the same time, I can easily separate a flawed administrative network and some deluded followers from the practice itself.

Hopefully, this website will allow this response as it is both objective and subjective, as all responses are.
