Many of us watched the Movement grow from humble idealistic beginnings to today's mega-conglomerate.
Peace palaces secure real estate and devotee labor on behalf of a deemed noble purpose.
Did groups practicing the TM-Sidhi program ever really affect world peace or cause the Berlin Wall to come down?
Maharishi and MVED skilfully placed lures.. e.g. world peace, build community, organic gardening, perfect health, ideal lifestyle, taste of utopia, bring this bliss to the masses, before followers to inspire further donations and free labor. It worked. We enjoyed working together, sharing our labor and devotion for our deemed-elite purpose.
The real goal was always to expand the MVED's holdings at the lowest possible cost. That's good business.

Interview with Bob Roth
Many remember Bob Roth for his various positions in TM Movement administration.
With Maharishi's death, the movement must maintain face-appeal in increasingly creative ways.
(ah, there goes that Science of Creative Intelligence again!)
It appears there will be ongoing focus of a "benign" entrance of TM into educational systems.
For a streaming interview with Bob Roth conducted by Dennis Raimondi, former dean of students at Maharishi International University (and myriad of other historic Movement jobs), tune in online to radio KRUU, the Voice of Fairfield for Speaking Freely with Dennis on Tues Feb 19 at 1pm and again on Thurs Feb 21 at 8am.
Dennis does a great job w/ his radio show.
Dennis' notes for this week's show :
Mr. Bob Roth is the vice president of the David Lynch Foundation. Mr. Roth is the author of Transcendental Meditation, which was translated into fifteen languages, and A Reason to Vote. Bob is also an educator and a leading proponent for consciousness based education.
Former Vice President Walter Mondale:
Walter Mondale was the forty-second Vice President of the United States (1977–1981) under President Jimmy Carter. He was also a two-term United States Senator from Minnesota and the Democratic Party nominee for president in 1984 against the incumbent, Republican Ronald Reagan.Later, during the administration of Democratic President Bill Clinton he served as the United States Ambassador to Japan from 1993-1996.
Enjoy!

Did Maharishi encourage you to care about the environment?
One of the criticisms of Maharishi is that he didn't seem to take a stand on any social or environmental causes. In fact he was openly rebuked for not being critical about US involvement in Vietnam.Perhaps here at TM-Free, while looking at the teachings and behaviour of Maharishi, we ought to think a little about what was missing in his teaching, including the complete lack of consideration for any other species, as if only mankind is worth mentioning.
Well, perhaps we all fall into that mindset to some degree?
Today, I received an email requesting support for Stop the Whaling & I thought vaguely; 'Oh, another email from someone trying to sort out the world', then somewhat guiltily I decided I'd mail it to a few friends who 'do' that sort of thing! Then I expanded the emailing to include anyone else that might be interested.
Minutes later I got an email from a musician friend who sent a clipping from a newspaper, an article about Saving the Whales, and there was a picture of his attractive adult daughter with her very fit activist husband. Ah, so it's not just ageing old bearded beatniks that protest about these things anymore then, and embarrass everyone else? I'm so glad to see its okay nowadays to speak up about what matters, not just poddle off and meditate for world peace, but to actually communicate our feelings and perhaps get something done about it.
It seems to me that the people at TM-Free are truth-seekers, and are determined to do more than just introspect and stare at their navels. Hopefully they see man's inhumanity to whales as something to challenge!
And as it only takes a minute to register your name on the petition .......
