PRESS RELEASE POSTED ON FAIRFIELD LIFE GROUP

India:
Maharishi Samadhi Smarak rising as a jewel among worldwide pilgrimage sites
by Global Good News staff writer

The Maharishi Samadhi Smarak, a beautiful memorial of Maharishi Mahesh Yogi's gift of Total Knowledge and invincibility, now under construction in India, is rising as a shining jewel among pilgrimage sites worldwide.

When approaching the elevated site of the Samadhi Smarak, located at the auspicious confluence of the rivers Ganga, Yamuna, and Saraswati, one already gets the feeling of a majestic presence, said Dr Eike Hartmann, Minister of Global Reconstruction for the Global Country of World Peace.*

The 64 great pillars of the Maharishi Samadhi Smarak can already be seen dominating the entire Sangam (confluence) area at their full height. When completed, 1008 golden Kalashes—Vedic roof ornaments that are traditionally said to connect heaven and earth—will decorate the roof and will be seen shining from far away on the other side of the Ganga.

Many millions of pilgrims who travel between Prayag (Allahabad), Kashi (Varanasi, Benares), and Ayodhya are in the tradition of bathing in the river, and also in 'the ocean of knowledge' as they visit the great teachers of the time there, Dr Hartmann said.

Twelve exhibition Mandaps (halls)—displaying Maharishi's life-transforming knowledge of this scientific age—will lead to the Smarak. This theme of expositions of Total Knowledge is central to the timeless tradition of Prayag, Dr Hartmann said.

Raja Rafael David, a Purusha** Raja of universal domain, explained that this perpetual memorial is a shrine to invincibility and a place of knowledge.

In the coming days, Global Good News will feature the continuation of Raja Rafael's and Dr Hartmann's report about progress in constructing the Maharishi Samadhi Smarak.

* The report by Raja Rafael David and Dr Eike Hartmann was featured on the 11 August 2010 Maharishi Global Family Chat, broadcast daily via Internet webcast on the Maharishi Channel, Channel 3. Podcasts of the daily Global Family Chat (audio track) are also now available for automatic download, via an RSS feed

** Maharishi designed the Maharishi Purusha Programme for men who wish to dedicate themselves fulltime to the most rapid pace of evolution and to creating world peace, through extended group practice of the Transcendental Meditation Sidhi Programme, and through their administration through silence, fulfilling the goals of the Global Country of World Peace in 192 countries of the world. Several Rajas of the Global Country are long-time members of the Purusha Programme.
